Strategy purchases $1.42 billion worth of Bitcoin

Over the past week, business intelligence firm Strategy has added a total of $1.42 billion worth of BTC to its holdings. The U.S.-based company is the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, according to CoinGecko. 

An official 8-K form shows that Strategy acquired a total of 15,355 BTC at an average price of $92,737 from April 21st to April 27th. This investment brings the company’s total holdings to 553,555 BTC at an average purchase price of $68,459, as of April 27th, 2025, according to the 8-K form. 

In the same period from April 21st to 27th, Strategy sold 4,020,000 MSTR shares and 435,069 STRK shares for net proceeds of $1.44 billion, primarily to fund this latest acquisition of Bitcoin.

Strategy, formerly known as MicroStrategy, is a business intelligence and AI company that was co-founded in 1989 by Michael Saylor. He was the Chief Executive Officer until 2022 and currently serves as Executive Chairman.
