- Astronomer’s CEO Andy Byron was spotted at a Coldplay concert with Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot in an embrace, sparking a scandal
- The cameras at the Coldplay concert were focusing on couples as part of a ‘Kiss-cam’, eventually landing on the leadership executives
- AI company Astronomer is yet to put out an official statement on the matter
Prominent news outlets and X handles picked up a short video of Astronomer CEO Andy Byron in what can only be described as an intimate embrace with Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot. The incident occurred during a Coldplay concert in Boston on Wednesday. Lead singer Chris Martin jokingly commented, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”
As part of the event, Coldplay’s cameras were running a kiss cam, which would occasionally focus on couples having a romantic moment.
The cameras focused on the couple in question, prompting Andy Byron to duck away from the glare of the camera while Kristin Cabot turned her back to the lens. Another employee of Astronomer was seen smiling on the sidelines.

The footage went viral on social media, and Byron was quickly identified alongside Cabot, with various memes poking fun at the couple for the mishap.
A statement supposedly emerged on Thursday, with Andy Byron apologizing for the incident, then proceeding to shift the blame onto Coldplay for recording the couple. However, the statement was identified to be fake and from a parody account.
Andy Byron has been CEO of Astronomer since July 2023, before which he worked at several companies as a C-level executive, such as Lacework, Cybereason, and Fuze, as per a Gulf News report.
Kristin Cabot joined as Chief People Officer of Astronomer later in November 2024, according to her LinkedIn, previously working HR leadership roles at Neo4j and ObserveIT.
