American regulators are having to upscale their knowledge on technologies like blockchain and Artificial Intelligence (AI) under President Donald Trump’s ongoing regulatory overhaul in the U.S. In order to bring education to the lawmakers on these up and coming technologies, a new crypto advisory group has debuted in Washington, D.C. on August 19.
The American Innovation Project (AIP)
AIP is the new crypto advisory group that plans to help U.S. regulators get an in-depth understanding of the digital assets sector. As per its website, the aim is to keep the policymakers informed so that their regulatory decisions are taken with a nonpartisan approach.
“We believe that informed policymakers are better equipped to serve their communities. Our programming encompasses a diverse range of activities designed to promote informed discussions among leaders in Congress, academia, advocacy, industry, and law. We are on a mission to transform education and policy engagement,” AIP’s website noted.

A number of industry players and crypto advisors have come together to form this group. The Solana Policy Institute is one of them and it plans to “fully support” the AIP to arm the U.S. leaders with a stronger understanding of emerging technologies.
“We look forward to contributing to this critical work alongside industry partners! We’re stronger together,” the Solana Policy Institute posted on X, announcing its alliance with the AIP.
Coinbase, Kraken, Paradigm, Uniswap Labs, and Andreessen Horowitz are also among founding members of the AIP alongside a few others, Decrypt reported. Julie Stitzel, a senior member of the Digital Currency Group (DGC) is the lead donor funding the AIP, the report noted.
AIP’s action plan
The launch of the AIP comes at a time when President Trump is taking steps to transform the U.S. into the crypto capital of the world. The U.S. lawmakers have been tasked with studying multiple facets related to crypto, blockchain, and AI in order to make the country as an early adopter of these technologies, and subsequently a major beneficiary.
In the coming months, the AIP plans to host conferences and workshops to benefit both, the regulators as well as the Web3 communities.
Its programme roadmap features research initiatives, expert-led discussion sessions, large-scale conferences, as well as more concentrated forum dialogues.
“Our events are not just about discussion; they are about creating actionable insights and developing legislative priorities and strategies for the betterment of society,” AIP added.
