Ripple President Monica Long recently met with UAE officials at the Dubai Fintech Summit, which took place on May 14, 2025. Long’s discussions with key company CEOs and representatives were centered around digital assets, regulation, and mass blockchain adoption.
Notable people who attended the meeting included the Emirates CEO, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Kotak Mahindra Bank CEO Ashok Vaswani, and Bolt CEO Justin Grooms. The event had over 9000 people from various fields in attendance from more than 120 countries.
Ripple is looking to expand and solidify its presence in the UAE, having secured a DFSA license on March 13, 2025.
Along with its regulatory approvals, the company also partnered with DIFC’s innovation hub. Ripple has secured 60 approvals globally from institutions such as the Monetary Authority of Singapore, the New York Department of Financial Services, and the Central Bank of Ireland as part of a broader strategy to expand its offerings, according to Mitrade.
The blockchain company also reached an agreement with the SEC on May 8th in its years-long legal battle, in which Ripple pays a total penalty of $50 million, as reported earlier by Coin Headlines. The focus of the SEC’s lawsuit centred around allegations that Ripple was selling unregistered securities.
