A significant leadership change is taking place at the Ethereum Foundation, aimed at creating a clear separation between management and board responsibilities.
In an official statement, Ethereum announced that Hsiao-Wei Wang and Tomasz K. Stańczak have been appointed Co-Executive Directors. They will be working alongside Bastian Aue and Josh Stark, who are joining the management team with a focus on organizational strategy and project execution.

Under the new structure, the board will concentrate on setting the long-term vision and ensuring progress toward the Foundation’s mission, while the management team will oversee daily operations and implement strategic initiatives.
Several prominent figures will retain their positions on the new board, including Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, who will provide “technical and intellectual guidance” to the ecosystem. Aya Miyaguchi, the Foundation’s President, will help shape its long-term vision and manage key external relationships. Patrick Storchenegger, a Swiss legal expert, will ensure the Foundation remains compliant with Swiss regulations as a non-profit organization, according to the statement.
Who are Hsiao-Wei Wang and Tomasz K. Stańczak?
Hsiao-Wei Wang served as a core researcher at the Ethereum Foundation for seven years, playing a key role in Ethereum’s Layer 1 research and the development of the Beacon Chain, according to SoSoValue. She holds a master’s degree in Network Engineering from National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan and has been instrumental in fostering the Ethereum community and advocating for women’s participation in the Web3 space, as per EtherWorld.
Tomasz K. Stańczak, on the other hand, is the founder of Nethermind—an Ethereum infrastructure firm renowned for building Ethereum clients and contributing to core protocol development. According to Cointelegraph, he has played a vital role in scaling Ethereum’s Layer 1, improving Layer 2 interoperability, and enhancing the overall user experience.
