The official X handle of the Trump Meme Coin has laid out the carpet and got the crypto commuting chattering— mostly those inquisitive on who all have made it to the prestigious guest list.
Only 25 out of 220 top holders of President Donald Trump’s official meme coin (TRUMP) get an exclusive chance to attend a gala dinner at the Trump National Golf Course in Washington, D.C. on May 22. Confirming his attendance, Tron founder Justin Sun acknowledged that he ranks high on the leaderboard and will be part of the upcoming gala dinner alongside an exclusive reception and private tour. Sun responded to the X post, saying ‘as the top holder’ he is excited to connect with everyone and discuss the future of the crypto industry.
The wallet held by Sun, initially had 800,000 TRUMP tokens in January, which increased to 1.07 million tokens just before the dinner announcement and currently stands at 1.5 million tokens on the Solana blockchain, translating roughly to $20 million. In fact, Sun had even purchased $30 million worth of Trump-linked World Liberty Financial’s governance token, in the past.
According to decrypt.com, the 25 VIPs held an average of $4.78 million worth of TRUMP coins from the time of the announcement of the dinner in April. The TRUMP token saw huge spikes as users rushed to gain access to the token—and potentially earn their spot at the dinner, but since the end of the competition, the token has seen a huge slump.
The President’s official meme coin and the many crypto-related endeavors by the Trump Organization have come under the scanner, with Democratic senators even ordering a probe into the gala dinner and its proceeds. In their letter to the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, Scott Bessent, they make specific mentions of World Liberty Financial and the TRUMP meme coin on Solana, stating—“raised myriad concerns about potential bribery, influence-peddling, threats to national security, market manipulation, and/or predatory and deceptive practices targeting vulnerable Americans.”
