The blockchain project supported by Microsoft, Space and Time, has launched its public permissionless mainnet to support crypto applications with zero-knowledge (ZK)-proven data infrastructure.
The new blockchain that is built by MakeInfinite Labs offers a decentralized, verifiable database for smart contracts to query historical, crosschain and offchain data, according to a news release shared with Cointelegraph.
The platform collects data from giant blockchains like Ethereum and shares it through a network of independent validators, allowing developers to search this data using a tool called “Proof of SQL,” that gives fast results along with cryptographic proof that the data is correct.
Scott Dykstra, co-founder at Space and Time said: “Prior to Space and Time, onchain applications had no way to query basic user data from a database of blockchain activity without introducing security risks and tampering,”
He also stated that developers can now build onchain apps with built-in security, using cryptographic proofs to connect cloud databases to smart contracts.
Dykstra added that top financial institutions, major cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure and Google BigQuery, as well as leading crypto projects such as Chainlink, Sui, and ZKsync, are already using or starting to build with, the tools and data services offered by Space and Time.
