68 Teams Joined Forces to Build the Future of MemeCore’s Web3 Culture and Expanding Ecosystem.
MemeCore, the world’s first Layer 1 Meme blockchain, announced the successful conclusion of “Memekathon Seoul 2025: Hack2Meme, Hack2Core,” held from22 November to 13 December, 2025. The event brought together 68 teams and over 160 participants, highlighting strong builder engagement and growing anticipation for the MemeCore ecosystem.
This year’s Memekathon marks an important milestone as MemeCore strengthens the foundation for its long-term ecosystem growth. As a Culture Chain built on internet memes and community-driven creativity, MemeCore envisions a future where DeFi and SocialFi work together to power sustainable digital culture.
Reflecting this vision, the Memekathon featured two strategic tracks:
- Track 1: DeFi & MemeFi
- Track 2: SocialFi & InfoFi
These tracks represent the core sectors MemeCore aims to reinforce as it builds a sustainable, utility-driven Web3 ecosystem rooted in internet culture.
Team Arkhe won the Hackathon Grand Prize for developing a one-click DLMM DEX that simplifies liquidity provisioning for meme pairs by auto-optimizing LP strategies and rewarding active meme communities through social virality-based fee boosts.
Team Show me the stM earned the Ideathon Grand Prize with a SocialFi model that turns social engagement into on-chain value. Users earn incentives by liking content, and the incentives are reused and partially burned through various utilities to create a sustainable, circular on-chain economy.
A total of $100,000 in prizes and grants was awarded:
- Hackathon Grand Prize: $12,000
- Ideathon Grand Prize: $3,000
- Track awards: $45,000 in total
- Ecosystem Grants: $40,000 to teams demonstrating long-term potential within the MemeCore ecosystem
“Memekathon Seoul 2025 was a pivotal moment that validated our vision for a new Web3 cultural ecosystem,” said JUN, CEO of MemeCore. “We will continue to support innovative teams and expand the MemeCore ecosystem with a strong focus on DeFi and SocialFi.”
Following the Seoul event, MemeCore plans to bring the Memekathon series to global regions – including other APAC countries and the United States – to further engage developer communities worldwide.
The event was hosted by MemeCore, co-hosted by MemeX and DeFi.App, with venue support from LBank Labs. Major Web3 companies—including Sentient, D’CENT and others—joined as ecosystem supporters, showcasing broad industry backing.
