Cryptocurrency exchange arm Binance.US has opened a listing for the USD1 token after the founder of one of the largest cryptocurrency firms received a pardon from the Trump Administration, as per an X post on Wednesday.

The USD1 token is a stablecoin offered by World Liberty Financial, which is co-owned by the Trump family through one of their business entities and is managed by Donald Trump Jr, Eric Trump, and Zack Witkoff.

Changpeng Zhao’s pardon was granted by Trump after both Binance and the crypto billionaire had been canvassing for support from the current administration through payments made to a lobbying group called Checkmate Government Relations and cryptocurrency lawyer Teresa Goody.

The decision to pardon one of crypto’s notable business figures has drawn ire from democratic senator Elizabeth Warren, who said, “CZ pleaded guilty to a criminal money laundering charge and was sentenced to prison. But then he financed President Trump’s stablecoin and lobbied for a pardon. If Congress does not stop this kind of corruption, it owns it,”
