Coinbase’s entry into the prediction market arena has been materialized in the U.S., the exchange announced on Wednesday. The in-app predictions platform on Coinbase, powered by Kalshi, has officially been rolled out across the U.S. this week.
Confirming the development, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong said users of the exchange can now trade on the expected future outcome of events related to sports, culture, politics, markets, and news among other sectors.
“Prediction markets are the ultimate form of truth seeking. When there’s skin in the game, the output is far more reliable. Everything else is biased by someone’s agenda. I think we’ll look back at prediction markets as a breakthrough in how we discover truth in the world,” Armstrong noted.
Users have been directed to update their Coinbase app and locate the newly added Predict tab at the bottom to experiment with the feature. Only verified Coinbase account holders will be able to access the feature.
Once inside the Predictions section on the Coinbase app, users will see an array of ongoing polls across categories. On any topic of interest, users will be able to vote for “yes” or “no” to a running question. Those interested to participate in the poll will be able to start trading on the outcome with as little as $1. Coinbase users will be able to use the USDC or USD amount on their in-app wallets to make the bet.

Coinbase clearly warns users that they should not invest unless they are prepared to “lose all the money” they have invested.
“This is a high-risk investment and you should not expect to be protected if something goes wrong,” said the platform, that offers categories like crypto, entertainment, weather, and technology to place bets on.
For now, the Coinbase predictions market is yet to reach other locations, the timeline of which remains unclear for now.
Kalshi is among the top names in the prediction markets space alongside Polymarket. While Coinbase users are using the exchange’s app to place bets, the actual trades are happening via Kalshi.
Coinbase had announced its partnership with Kalshi in December 2025.
