Dubai, that has established itself as a supportive region for Web3 growth, is only expanding in terms of its network with blockchain and crypto communities. Solana has now become the latest Web3 platform to have bagged an exclusive hub in Dubai, it announced on August 18.
Dubbed the Solana City, this newly launched co-working hub will serve as the official hotspot for Solana-based activities including workshops, meetings, and mixers.
Announcing its launch, Solana said, the co-working part of the ecosystem will not be open to all. Those looking to secure a spot here will have to provide evidence of the contribution they could bring to the blockchain’s ecosystem.
Superteam UAE, an organization that works with Solana projects and developers to establish their presence in Dubai, will be overseeing Solana City.
“We’ll open up access to coworking guest passes soon. it’s not open to the public so teams will have to approve guests and host (and pay) per daily guest. that means you’ll need to show serious proof of work. we’ll give preference to global superteam members,” said Superteam UAE commenting on the development.
Luxury retail outlets, premium residences, and 52,780 sq-ft of coworking space collectively make for the Solana City.
The Web3 community in Dubai is rapidly expanding. Earlier this week, the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) said that its crypto centre has surpassed 700 companies overall.
The DMCC is now focusing on completing the construction of its 17-storey Crypto Tower project in JLT. This project will encapsulate 150,000 square feet of leasable space, nine floors, three dedicated floors for blockchain incubators, an AI innovation floor, a crypto club, gold bullion shop and vault storage area.
