The Gemini crypto exchange is clocking a rise in user engagement after it launched an XRP rewards card in partnership with Ripple and Mastercard. The platform has surpassed Coinbase on Apple’s App Store on Tuesday, August 26, shows data by Sensor Tower.
At the time of writing, Gemini presently stands on the 16th position on the App Store’s finance category. Coinbase, on the other hand, ranks 20th on the list.
On Tuesday Gemini co-founder Tyler Winklevoss posted a screenshot of App Store’s top charts on X — showing Gemini’s ranking.

Coinbase is touted among the largest crypto exchanges internationally. According to Messari, its daily trading volume is thrice that of Gemini’s — making this latest development crucial for Gemini.
The latest XRP edition of Gemini’s crypto credit card is meant to let holders earn XRP rewards on their spending on fuel, EV charging, dining, and groceries among others.
With this service, Gemini is looking to drive crypto usecases into consumer spending.
The exchange also recently acquired its MiCA licence to expand its presence in the EU region.
