Stablecoin major Tether has released a health and wellness platform called QVAC Health. Powered by AI, the platform will let users store and track their biometric data, workout log, nutrition information, and medical reminders within one offline and encrypted dashboard. The app native to the platform, Tether claims, is compatible with the Oura ring, Apple and Google Health.
Tether CEO Paolo Ardonio said that the initiative is aimed at removing the element of fragmentation in health tech ecosystems to fetch a full picture of the users’ health. The official statement from Tether vouched that the insights obtained through this platform and the report synthesized is generated completely on-device – and not stored on a corporate server.
“You shouldn’t have to choose between using the best hardware on the market and maintaining your privacy. QVAC Health reflects the company’s commitment to privacy-preserving local intelligence,” Ardoino noted.
Explaining the platform, Tether said its app will be able to transform the user’s device into “a private intelligence hub” using native AI protocols.
“By leveraging local AI, it (QVAC) can correlate manual logs with wearable data to reveal hidden patterns. For instance, it will be able to analyze how a meal logged via photo affects sleep efficiency tracked by a fitness band,” the announcement from Tether explained.
The announcement notably skipped any information on if the USDT token would have any role in the OVAC ecosystem.
A short glimpse of what the platform offers has been posted on X through QVAC’s official X platform.
In November, media reports had surfaced online that Tether could be looking to dive deeper into AI. The stablecoin major has reportedly been looking to invest a billion dollars in Germany-based AI and robotics company Neura. An official confirmation on this from Tether remains awaited for now.
