KuCoin customers can now use leading cryptocurrencies such as USDT, USDC, ETH, TON, and BNB to pay for their everyday expenses. KuCoin has collaborated with AEON to introduce a feature wherein merchants can ask customers to pay for purchases directly from their account on the crypto exchange.
Merchants will have to integrate the tool called KuCoin Pay into their systems, post which customers can simply scan a QR code or use the KuCoin app to make the payment. The move will accelerate the use of Web3 mobile payments, particularly in high-growth markets across Asia and beyond, a press release stated.
The initiative will not only improve accessibility but also foster a broader acceptance of native Web3 mobile payment solutions. AEON operates a suite of interoperable payment tools-including Web3 Mobile Payments, Online Web3 Payments, as well as supports recurring or pre-authorized transactions. Its AI payments system allows intelligent agents to manage and automate transactions, payments, subscriptions, and remittances for users.
KuCoin Pay, on the other hand, is a merchant solution provider that will allow merchants to receive payments in 54 cryptocurrencies. The aim is that with offerings like Web3 Mobile Payment, users can pay with crypto across 10,000 brands at 20+ million retail merchants in Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The introduction of this new feature will help bridge the gap between crypto and the legacy payments infrastructure.
