Coinbase has rebranded its “Coinbase Wallet” app to the “Base app” – stepping into the arena of “superapps” . The platform, touted among the largest exchanges internationally, announced the development this week during its “A New Day” conference in Los Angeles.

The Base app will let users earn and trade in digital assets while also giving them access to discover apps and engage in chatting and creating.

“Base is growing from a chain to an open stack built to empower builders, creators, and people everywhere to build apps, grow businesses, create, and earn onchain,” said an official announcement post from Coinbase.

The “everything app” will further let users keep tabs on the trading activities of their peers and participate in the ones that interest them — while giving users the access to mini apps offering gaming, engagement, and market-related services.

The idea behind the launch of this “everything app”, as Coinbase explained, is to give its users the opportunity to earn directly through their posts and freely choose to share their identity and content with them across different apps. Creators will be allowed to churn weekly rewards for community engagements on this Coinbase superapp.

“Creators don’t need to rely on brand deals or massive followings to earn their first dollar.. We’re enabling a flywheel between creators and their audience where any user can easily tip or collect their favorite content directly, creating a new economic model for creators. Anyone, anywhere in the world can get on Base and earn from day one,” Coinbase’s announcement added.

Brian Armstrong, the co-founder and CEO of Coinbase also shared the development to his 1.5 million followers on X.

For now, the Base app is rolling out in its beta phase. Coinbase has invited individuals to sign up for the app, try it, and submit feedback.

For Coinbase apps, this week is proving to be quite action packed. While the Wallet app was given a new branding as the Base app – Coinbase’s exchange app also marked its own milestone. Coinbase’s exchange app notably improved its App Store ranking, jumping from 386th last month to 137th, data from Sensor Tower shows. This indicates at the positively shifting sentiment towards crypto in the U.S. under the Trump administration.
