Stablecoin platform Ethena Labs has entered a partnership with TON to offer its USDe stablecoin to a combined total of 1 billion users on Telegram.

The announcement was made on the 1st of May at Token2049, a crypto conference that includes Eric Trump, Changpeng Zhao, Paolo Ardoino, Jeremy Allaire, and Robert Mitchnik as some of the speakers at the event.

The partnership will integrate the following Ethena stablecoins within the TON blockchain: USDe and staked USDe. Two specific integrations will link Ethena’s stablecoin into TON, which is one in a custodial wallet in Telegram and one in a non-custodial wallet, which is integrated into Telegram’s messaging platform.

“Today we announce our partnership with @ton_blockchain to power finance’s most powerful use case: To send, save and pay with a globally accessible dollar,” stated the X post on the 1st of May.

TON is a blockchain that was developed by brothers Nikolai and Pavel Durov as an internal project. The TON blockchain was part of Telegram, the messaging platform developed by the Durov brothers, before becoming independent.
