U.S. President Donald Trump plans to transform the U.S. into the AI and crypto capital of the world. Moving forward in his plans, the President has signed an executive order rolling out the “Genesis Mission”. The aim of this mission is to integrate the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for scientific research and purposes.

The White House shared an official statement about the Genesis Mission officially being launched on November 24.

“This whole-of-government approach represents a historic mobilization of resources, tasking the Department of Energy to integrate its world-class supercomputers and datasets into a unified, closed-loop AI platform,” the White House said, explaining the initiative.

Under this initiative, U.S. federal agencies overseeing science, technology, health, and manufacturing will collectively integrate AI with their ongoing research and development programmes.

Michael Kratsios, the Assistant to the President for Science and Technology will be spearheading this initiative, the executive order signed by President Trump said.

“The Genesis Mission connects world-class scientific data with the most advanced American AI to unlock breakthroughs in medicine, energy, materials science, and beyond,” said Kratsios, commenting on the development.

At present, the U.S. is touted as the largest host of AI companies. From OpenAI to Microsoft, Meta, Google, and xAI – top AI players are presently based in the U.S.

In order to keep national security intact, President Trump has previously discouraged Big Tech firms from hiring AI talent from other countries like India and China.

Meanwhile, the U.S. government is also supporting the ambitious Project Stargate that, under OpenAI’s leadership, is aimed at designing and creating the advanced infrastructure to support advanced AI use-cases. OpenAI along with SoftBank, OpenAI, Oracle, and MGX among others have committed to pour-in $500 billion into the U.S. AI ecosystem.
