One of Dubai’s busiest airports, Dubai International Airport, has rolled out a specialized AI corridor that can clear passengers in a matter of seconds, as per a Gulf News report.

Dubai International Airport (DXB)’s newest creation is called the ‘Red Carpet’

While a traditional checkpoint can process one person, the AI corridor—dubbed the Red Carpet—can process multiple people at once. It does this by processing passenger data and verifying their identity.

The launch was announced by the Director General of the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri.

Dubai International Airports—along with Al Maktoum International Airport, and Dubai Cargo Village—is managed by Dubai Airports, a corporate entity created in 2008 to lend structure to ownership of Dubai’s key operating facilities for aviation.

Other key upgrades with AI in the GCC aviation sector include Qatar Airways launching ‘AI Skyways’ in partnership with Accenture to create a new aviation by integrating artificial intelligence.
