AI is everywhere, and First Lady Melania Trump is embracing it head-on. She has released a memoir, titled Melania – The AI Audiobook, which, for the first time, has used an AI replica of her voice. The audiobook is created in collaboration with AI audio startup ElevenLabs and is priced at $25. It will be available exclusively through the ElevenReader app. Melania on Instagram captioned it as “my story, my perspective, the truth.”
Calling it a ‘new era in publishing’ this is the first time artificial intelligence is being used to to narrate a commercial publication. The audiobook will be available in English initially, with plans of the Spanish, Portuguese, Hindi, and other languages coming soon.
The seven-hour recording features a digitally recreated version of the first lady’s voice. The AI voice, mimicks the Slovenian-born former model’s accent accurately and has been developed under her direct supervision, ElevenLabs wrote in its blog post.
ElevenLabs has become a go-to platform for authors and publishers who wish to bring their written work to life. The ElevenReader App features the written works of legends like Maya Angelou, Deepak Chopra, Arianna Huffington, and Richard Feynman, all available with AI narration in their distinctive voices.
