Chipmaking firm NVIDIA has denied a video in which Mexican governor Samuel Garcia said the firm plans to build a data centre in the northern state of Nuevo Leon, as per a Reuters report.

In the video, Garcia appeared to have representatives of NVIDIA on both sides.

NVIDIA said in a statement to Reuters that the company does not have financial investment plans in Nuevo Leon.

“The company’s support for digital transformation and technological progress in Latin America is based exclusively on cooperation initiatives, research and talent development.”

Over the past few months, NVIDIA has rolled out a flurry of initiatives to create valuable infrastructure for AI, such as a $100 billion commitment in collaboration with OpenAI and a rollout of the Ruben CPX AI chip.
