Crypto exchange OKX has launched a new set of equity perpetual swaps that allow users in supported regions to benefit from around-the-clock exposure to major global stocks and indices with the help of cryptocurrency margin.
The initiative is part of a larger trend that the industry is witnessing, with crypto exchanges looking to move beyond the traditional crypto space and providing users with access to traditional financial markets.
What does the new rollout include?
The launch includes more than 20 equity perpetual contracts with some of the most influential companies around the globe. These companies include the popular “Magnificent 7” stocks for the technology sector: Nvidia Corp., Tesla Inc., Apple Inc., Alphabet Inc., Microsoft Corp., Amazon.com Inc., and Meta Platforms Inc.
These companies are viewed as a barometer for the technology industry worldwide and thus become a popular choice for diversified trading portfolios.
The launch also includes companies that are related to the crypto space: Strategy, Coinbase, Robinhood, and Circle.
Additional technology-focused names such as Palantir Technologies, Intel, and SanDisk are also included, broadening the platform’s appeal to traders interested in both traditional and digital asset markets.
OKX new perpetual swaps to include USDT domination
According to the company, the contracts are denominated in USDT and offer leverage of up to five times.
Traders can use assets such as Bitcoin, Ether, and stablecoins as collateral, while those holdings can continue generating yield through the platform’s earning features.
The products are currently available across regions including Asia, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Latin America, and Türkiye.
Commenting on the launch, OKX founder and CEO Star Xu stated, “These new products are part of a larger vision to bring real-world assets into the world of crypto exchanges.”
The move is a clear reflection of the role that exchanges are playing in bringing together crypto and traditional finance into a single system.
