OpenAI has rolled out a new workspace dedicated to academic researchers called Prism, as per an official press release on Tuesday.
The update comes after the startup updated ChatGPT with an age-prediction feature and a health-focused integration called ChatGPT Health.
“We’re introducing Prism, a free, AI-native workspace for scientists to write and collaborate on research, powered by GPT‑5.2. Prism offers unlimited projects and collaborators and is available today to anyone with a ChatGPT personal account,” read the official statement.
Prism is also to be made available to groups that use the following plans:
- ChatGPT Business
- ChatGPT Enterprise
- ChatGPT Education.
This is not the first feature launched by OpenAI to assist users interested in leveraging AI for learning purposes. Last year, the company introduced study mode, an integration geared towards students to complete their assignments and organize their academic life.
The latest feature is just one part of a slew of features, all aimed at making ChatGPT as user-friendly as possible and ready for monetization, if possible via testing of ads.
Sam Altman courted headlines recently when he got into a spat with Elon Musk over whose technology was responsible for more deaths: Autopilot or ChatGPT?
