OpenAI has rolled out an updated version of ChatGPT, that allows users to interact with a more human-sounding and responsive interface, as per an official press release.
The update comes a constant tweaking of the AI firm’s product to cater better to its users. The new version of ChatGPT is split into two modified features: GPT-5.1 instant and GPT-5.1 thinking.
OpenAI’s CEO and co-founder Sam Altman took to X to post about the update.
As per the data listed in the statement, the update has made GPT-5.1 Instant more responsive and quicker, answering questions of a simple nature in a more timely fashion, while GPT-5.1 Thinking processes more data before answering a complex question, allowing it more time for effective responses.
The new rollout will first be available to paid users across its Pro, Plus, Go, and Business subscriptions, with the free version to be made available to users after.
“If you check ChatGPT today, you may not see GPT‑5.1 available immediately. We plan to roll it out gradually over the next few days to help keep performance stable for everyone. We will also update GPT‑5 Pro to GPT‑5.1 Pro soon,” read the statement.
