Sam Altman has expanded the ChatGPT family of platforms by introducing a new member on Tuesday, October 21. The OpenAI chief announced the launch of an AI-first browser on Tuesday, dubbed the ChatGPT Atlas. For now, the browser has only been made available for macOS users.
The generative AI ChatGPT bot is integrated within the platform. This feature, as described by Altman, essentially makes Atlas an AI super-assistant for its users.
“Please send feedback! Availability on other platforms to follow,” he posted on X, announcing the browser.

The browser, that offers a built-in memory feature, will also let users complete tasks without copying and pasting or leaving the page. The users will be able to perform tasks and process searches based on past interactions with the browser.
“ChatGPT can also do work for you in Atlas using agent mode, with improvements that make it faster and more useful by working with your browsing context,” an official announcement blog from ChatGPT said.
Users will be able to view, archive, and delete their browser memories, the blog mentioned.
The browser also comes with a special “Agent” mode that makes the browser more in sync with past conversations.
Reviews of the browser have already started to pour on social media.
OpenAI said Atlas is rolling out to Windows, iOS, and Android in the coming days.
