- Coinbase partners with Perplexity AI to provide live market data, such as prices, charts and token fundamentals.
- The first phase integrates Coinbase’s data into Perplexity’s “market analysis” interface.
- The second phase will allow users to query real-time crypto info using natural language via Perplexity’s AI assistant.
Coinbase has teamed up with Perplexity AI to bring real-time cryptocurrency market data into Perplexity’s AI-powered search engine. This partnership ushers in a new era of informed crypto exploration. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong in an X post, said that the partnership will roll out in two phases.
Phase 1 has already gone live, where Preplexity has been integrated into Coinbase’s market data, including the COIN50 index, in Perplexity’s Comet browser. Users can now access live prices, charts, and token fundamentals directly within Perplexity’s “market analysis” tools. This feature enables users to “double-click into price moves,” helping them make more data-driven trading decisions.

Armstrong said that Phase 2 would be launching soon and will embed Coinbase’s data directly within Perplexity’s conversational interface. This will enable users to ask natural-language queries such as token-specific price movements or portfolio insights, and receive answers backed by live market data.
He added that this integration could be a catalyst for AI to “achieve another 10x unlock,” and hinted at a future where “crypto wallets [are] fully integrated into LLMs,” bridging research and execution.
This move marks a significant milestone in crypto reporting and service delivery, potentially transforming how users interact with and act on crypto insights. Traders gain immediate access to real-time, verified market data without leaving their AI interface, reducing friction between discovery and action.
As LLMs and institutional AI adoption grow, this paves the way for the futures where chatbots can execute trades, rebalance portfolios, or manage staking, all through conversational commands.
