U.S. budget airline Spirit Airlines is planning to cut a total of 150 jobs as the company attempts to cut costs and turn around its financial state, as per a Reuters report.
The company said on Wednesday that it would also be discontinuing its service at five airports.
Spirit Airlines stated that its losses will be estimated at $804 million for 2025.
This is not the first time the airline has announced job cuts. In July, the company said that it would be furloughing 270 pilots with plans of demoting an additional 140, after which Spirit Airlines again was planning to cut 1,800 flight attendant roles in September.
In its quarterly report ending June 30, 2025, it raised a going concern in its financial statement , a crucial indicator that informs of the uncertainty of a company to remain afloat.
