Several Claude users claimed that the chatbot suffers similar crashes way too frequently, urging Anthropic for a more permanent fix.
Timing of Claude’s outage
Interestingly, this outage for Anthropic’s LLM comes just days after it cancelled a potential $200 million deal with the U.S. Department of War, citing demand of unrestricted access to its AI technology from the Pentagon.
U.S. President Donald Trump has blacklisted Anthropic from federal partnerships.
“We don’t need it, we don’t want it, and will not do business with them again!” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Friday.

The U.S. Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth reacted strongly to Anthropic’s stance calling it arrogance.
“Anthropic’s stance is fundamentally incompatible with American principles. Their relationship with the United States Armed Forces and the Federal Government has therefore been permanently altered,” Hegseth said.
Google’s Gemini, OpenAI’s ChatGPT, and xAI’s Grok meanwhile, are operational opposed to Claude.
