AI Startup OpenAI has hired tech industry veteran Arvind KC to help lead the company as Chief People Officer, as per an official announcement on Tuesday.
The new hire will add structure to a company that right now is running rapid product and segment development in an effort to monetize its services. According to Fortune Magazine, the company is still running a loss, although it earns revenue from paid ChatGPT subscriptions and has access to large amounts of capital from equity investments.
With an education in both engineering and business, Arvind KC has worked in leadership roles across Google, Roblox, and Palantir Technologies.
The update comes after OpenAI hired OpenClaw creator Peter Steinberger to lead the company’s efforts in developing personal agents.
“This is a moment where every organization is being asked to rethink how work happens, what teams need, how people grow, and how to adapt as the tools change” said Arvind in the announcement. “I’m excited to join OpenAI as we work through those questions ourselves, and alongside our ecosystem of users, customers, and partners building the future with us.”
AI firms are currently in the midst of a hiring spree, looking to get the best talent they can find, offering lucrative six-figure salaries across multiple roles. OpenAI is also part of the talent hunt, giving employees lucrative stock compensation packages that run up to $1.5 million, according to the Wall Street Journal.
“We believe the way we scale OpenAI should reflect the future we’re helping to create,” said OpenAI Applications CEO Fidji Simo.
‘KC will play a key role in ensuring our people processes, policies, and systems match our ambition, while preserving the culture and operating principles that have helped us get here,”
