OpenAI said on Friday via press release that it has secured a total of $110 billion from tech and investment heavyweights, an update that pushes its pre-money valuation up to $730 billion.
The commitments come from NVIDIA, SoftBank, and Amazon—companies with which OpenAI has firm partnerships for its infrastructure, energy, and capital requirements—to the tune of $30 billion, $30 billion, and $50 billion, respectively.
The official statement cited the company’s rapid growth in AI software and user-friendly services such as Codex, which saw weekly users triple since the beginning of 2026 to a total of 1.6 million users, and ChatGPT, which now has nine million “business paying users”. On the consumer side, there are 50 million subscribers and 900 million weekly users who use ChatGPT for their day-to-day tasks.
“We are entering a new phase where frontier AI moves from research into daily use at global scale,” read the official statement.
“Leadership will be defined by who can scale infrastructure fast enough to meet demand, and turn that capacity into products people rely on. This funding and these partnerships let us do both, and move faster on our mission to ensure AGI benefits all of humanity,”
