Tech firms Red Hat and NVIDIA have created a new open-source AI solutions platform, as per an official announcement by the chipmaking and graphics hardware firm on Tuesday.
Officially dubbed the Red Hat AI Factory, developers and companies in need of open source technology will supposedly be able to access this new platform for developing their own AI products and services.
Created in 1993, Red Hat is a subsidiary of IBM, and its main core business is providing open-source software to technology firms and enterprises.
“We’re accelerating the path to deploy AI and move quickly to production using Red Hat AI Factory with NVIDIA,” said Red Hat CTO Chris Wright. “With a stable, high-performance foundation driven by our proven hybrid cloud offerings, we’re enabling our customers to own their AI strategy and scale with the same rigor they apply to their core IT platforms.”
NVIDIA and Red Hat will be targeting a very lucrative niche in the cryptocurrency market which is enterprise AI—specifically AI friendly enterprise software—and its applications.
The update comes as NVIDIA continues to develop GPUs, data center infrastructure, and software applications for the purpose of catering to every possible requirement both corporate and retail clients may have in the future when it comes to AI.
At the time of writing, NVIDIA’s shares were trading at $193.30.
