Cloud-based arm Alibaba Cloud has rolled out multiple changes to help expand its presence in AI, one of which includes opening data centers across the globe in countries like Brazil, France, and the Netherlands, with future plans to expand to other countries, as per an official press release.

The update comes amid a continued flurry of activity among tech firms to remain relevant by investing in AI in any way they can.

In some instances, tech firms are partnering with pureplay AI firms to help create relevant infrastructure and services such as OpenAI and NVIDIA’s strategic partnership to create 10 gigawatts worth of AI data centers through aggregation of millions of GPUs, or ASML’s investment into Mistral AI.

“AI is revolutionizing not only technology, but also the very foundation of how enterprises deliver business value and drive growth. Our strategic expansion of global infrastructure is designed to cater for the accelerating demand from forward-thinking customers,” said Alibaba Cloud Intelligence Group

Alongside the push for data center infrastructure, Alibaba has also rolled out an AI catalyst program, which is focused on helping companies in this sector grow and scale their offerings.
