A new crypto wallet branded with former President Donald Trump’s name is launching in connection with his Solana-based meme coin, in partnership with leading NFT marketplace Magic Eden. However, Trump’s sons have publicly distanced themselves from the project.
The wallet, tied to the officially licensed Trump meme coin, opened a waitlist for users on Tuesday. A Magic Eden spokesperson confirmed the project’s legitimacy and its collaboration with Trump’s business partners to Decrypt. The site was first identified by independent journalist Molly White.
Shortly after the news broke, Magic Eden announced the partnership on X (formerly Twitter), with the meme coin’s official GetTrumpMemes account retweeting the post.
Trump family denies involvement
Despite the wallet’s official Trump branding, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Barron Trump each took to X to deny involvement with the project.
“To be clear, our family has zero involvement with this wallet,” Barron Trump wrote in his first post on the platform.
Donald Trump Jr. also clarified that the wallet is not associated with World Liberty Financial, a separate project he is developing alongside Eric and Barron. “The Trump Organization has zero involvement with this wallet product,” he wrote. “Eric Trump and I know nothing about it. Stay tuned World Liberty Financial, which we have been working tirelessly on, will be launching our official wallet soon.”
Wallet offers token rewards and sweepstakes
The Trump Wallet appears to be designed as a promotional vehicle for the TRUMP meme coin. Users who join the waitlist are eligible to enter sweepstakes offering 1 million TRUMP tokens valued at $11.6 million at the time of writing.
According to the site’s terms, the sweepstakes begins June 4 and ends July 4. On Independence Day, participants who have referred at least one other user will be entered into a raffle for a $100,000 prize in TRUMP tokens.
The platform uses a referral-based rewards structure. Users who refer others gain access to “TRUMP Boxes,” which offer increasing chances to win TRUMP tokens. For instance, a user who refers to 100 people would qualify for a “Diamond TRUMP Box,” potentially containing up to 200 TRUMP tokens—worth approximately $2,316 at current prices.
The Trump Wallet app is powered by Slingshot, a mobile crypto trading platform acquired by Magic Eden in April as part of its expansion beyond the NFT sector.
“We have historically worked with the TRUMP project to support their prior NFT launches and are excited that we’re working on a much larger project now with Trump Wallet,” a Magic Eden spokesperson told Decrypt. Earlier this year, Magic Eden also helped launch Trump’s Bitcoin Ordinals NFT collection.
Behind the Scenes and Market Reaction
A spokesperson for Trump’s longtime business associate Bill Zanker—listed in LLC filings related to the TRUMP meme coin—did not respond to a request for comment on the wallet’s launch.
The TRUMP token, launched earlier in 2024, has maintained visibility through high-profile promotions, including a recent dinner for top holders with the former president. The announcement of the wallet and associated sweepstakes appears to be part of that ongoing campaign. The token rose roughly 3% following the wallet’s unveiling.
